Vaccine supply is expected to continue to transition to greater availability in the next few months, but concerted action is needed if equitable vaccine uptake is to be achieved.
To ensure uptake of vaccines among women, Adivasis, and other socially disadvantaged groups, government and civil society organizations have been devising innovative approaches to build trust and improve access to the vaccine. Through a combination of community engagement and effective risk communication, groups working with the Adivasi populations and other socially disadvantaged communities have shown an ability to increase vaccine uptake.
This panel discussion will bring together people at the forefront of this work — on the ground and in policy-making task forces. This will be an action-oriented panel discussion, in which panelists and the audience are encouraged to discuss proactive approaches to improving vaccine equity in India.
This platform, connecting you to people who relentlessly work towards removing barriers to vaccination and discuss the gaps that remain to ensure that disadvantaged groups are prioritized for vaccination in the near term, is brought to you by India Covid SOS in collaboration with DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance.
